ST. JOHN PASSION – JOHANNESPASSIONEN – an Introduction
ST. JOHN PASSION was commissioned in 2014 by 13 parishes within The Church of Sweden and premiered during Passion time 2015 on all 13 locations.
It is scored for Mixed choir (SATB)
Four soloists (Soprano (Arias) Tenor (Evangelist) Baritone (Christ) Bass-baritone (Christ) baritone)
Wood wind quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn & Bassoon) and Organ.
Duration: about 1 hour
Lyrics: The Passion story from The Gospel of St John and other sections. Some quotes from the Old Testament and texts from The official Swedish Hymn book.
It’s published in two versions: One in Swedish and one in English!

Introduction with score & performance
Stabat Mater was finalized by the end of 2023. Originally it was commissioned back in 2019 but the project was postponed in 2020 due to the world pandemic and later cancelled. In 2023 it was revitalized and reworked for the world premiere in Stockholm on June 16th, Sweden. The work is published by Norsk Musikforlag. The Vocal score can be purchased and the Full score and instrumental parts available on rental.
Stabat Mater is scored for:
Alto solo (range: A flat to F sharp)
Tenor solo (range: E natural – B natural)
Mixed choir (SATB)
Flute, Oboe, Clarinet (Bb), Horn (F), Bassoon

Strings: Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
